What do I do?

I began my therapeutic practice in 2003. My initial academic training was in law. It took time to recognise that this was not the path I wished to follow, and longer still to discover what was. That process of searching has informed my work ever since.

In therapy, I support clients in processes of discovery and change.

Psychological distress often emerges when the demands of a situation exceed a person’s current coping capacity — whether through intensity, severity or duration. When overwhelmed, people can lose access to their internal resources.

My role — whether working with individuals, couples, families or groups — is to help restore access to those resources: personal experience, knowledge, resilience and skills. From there, we build new capacities.

My professional background integrates psychology, systemic family psychotherapy and EMDR.

I am accredited by the (Non-Violent Resistance) for families; Facilitator, Coordinator, and Supervisor supporting families facing child-to-parent violence and self-destructive behaviour.

Alongside evidence-based mainstream approaches, I draw on carefully selected integrative methods, including Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Time Line Therapy™, Focusing, and mindfulness-based approaches for anxiety and depression.

My work also includes:

  • Brief Solution Focused Therapy
  • Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT)
  • Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT) for parents and for children
  • The Non-Violent Resistance Programme (including foundation-level training)

Areas of clinical experience include:

  • Relationship difficulties (partners, children, extended family)
  • Trauma, including intergenerational trauma
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Addiction
  • Grief and loss
  • ADHD, ASD, OCD, phobias
  • Self-harm
  • Child-to-parent violence
